Outreach

St. Luke’s Outreach Commission
St Luke’s is known in the Prescott area community for its many outreach programs.  Did you know that St. Luke’s is involved in nearly 40 different outreach programs locally, nationally and internationally?  In addition to the mission statement of our church (“To know Christ and to make Christ known”), the Outreach program also has a mission statement: “To bring parishioners together to help the poor and marginalized, especially those in need of food, water, shelter, clothing and educational opportunities.” These are the things that Jesus has encouraged us to do, and we are doing them through our many programs.

Outreach Event "Undies Sundays" to benefit Homeless Veterans in Yavapai County

The next two Sundays in August (8/20 and 8/27), a black bin with a yellow lid will be in the Gathering Hall to collect donations of new packages of socks, underwear, undershirts, long johns, sweats – top and/or bottoms (all sizes for both men – 80% and women-20%) to give homeless vets a hand up. Also, there will be a box for monetary donations in the Outreach Window Display.

Every year, U.S. VETS has a Stand Down event at which they help homeless vets with food, clothing, hygiene items, and legal assistance. Contributing needed undergarments is a way St. Luke’s can help our veterans who have given so much.

St. Luke’s Outreach Commission thanks you for your support and contributions!

Don't Spend Christmas Alone

ST LUKE’S IS SEEKING A PROGRAM DIRECTOR FOR “DON’T SPEND CHRISTMAS ALONE.” THIS VOLUNTEER POSITION IS VITAL TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS FEAST FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALONE DURING THE HOLIDAYS. IF YOU CAN SPARE SOME TIME TO HELP ORGANIZE OUR VOLUNTEERS, PLEASE CALL THE CHURCH OFFICE AT (928) 778-4499 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Our yearly event provides Christmas Dinner to those who would otherwise have no place to go.  During COVID, the meals were strictly delivered by volunteers, including the Prescott Police and Fire Districts, and different groups from the community. This year we hope to be back live. Stay tuned for more information on how to get involved, how to register to receive meals, and how to serve.

Angel Quilts

The Angel Quilt sewing and craft group meets on the third Thursday of every month in Classroom C in the Children’s Wing of the church. Come to learn or to teach quilting, resulting in children-sized quilts that the ministry delivers to children who are hospitalized. When you make a child a quilt, you feel warm. Fabric, patterns, and fellowship are readily available.
