FAMILY
Before he turned 90, my father was known for being active in the community and very involved in his church. For example, he built a soup kitchen in the church annex. He served on all the church governing boards and tithing was just part of going to church. Father worked to build inclusivity in the county, promoting Hispanic and Native cultures. Our family was part of the Lion’s Club, and I learned all their songs. (I still am tempted to sing one of them when I dine out. “Waiter, waiter, waiter won’t you wait on me.”) The more he gave of himself and his time, the more we understood God’s world and our place in it. He is my role model! I want to be like him when I grow up. I am rooted in his abundance which was rooted in HIS abundance. —Carol Goldsmith
The Vestry has endorsed a plan to relocate the library from a classroom at the end of the Sunday School wing into The Meditation Room right off the Parish Hall. This will make the library resources more available to parishioners. Here is an opportunity to serve the parishioners of St. Luke’s! We need a volunteer (or two or three) to go through the library materials, weed out duplicates and unrelated materials, and organize the books to make them more accessible. If you have an interest in books and would be able to help, please contact our Junior Warden, Dave White, at 928-273-9394.
