Music Ministry
The Mission of the Music Program at Saint Luke’s is to glorify God, to proclaim the Word through fine choral, organ, and piano music, to inspire enthusiastic and uplifting congregational singing, to minister to the hearts and minds of the congregation, and to provide musical opportunities for the greater community.
Choir
We are blessed to have an outstanding duo of skilled musicians to serve as our musical leaders: Organist Kay Houser and Choir Master Dennis Houser.
The Choir of Saint Luke’s
The Choir of Saint Luke’s, noted for its inspiring choral offerings, is comprised of approximately 30 voices. It leads the congregational singing and sings an anthem at the 10:00 am worship service and at other special services from August through June. Its repertoire ranges from traditional Anglican to spirituals.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 pm during the months of September through May. Interested singers who would like to audition are urged to contact Music Director, Dennis Houser at 778-4499.
St. Luke’s Ringers
St. Luke’s Ringers is a five-octave handbell choir that meets Wednesday afternoons, 4:30-6:00 pm, from late August through May. They ring about once a month for worship with extra ringing at Christmas and Easter. Music reading is very helpful. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jim Klein at 928-445-7215.
